Arsènal: Meet the authors!

The book. People who’ve talked to me said they’ve enjoyed it!

Alright. A book signing this Saturday morning of ‘Arsènal: The Making of a Modern Superclub’ – co-written by the editor of The Gooner as well as this very website… me.

So here’s the publishers’ blurb for your entertainment…

Alex Fynn and Kevin Whitcher will be signing copies of their new book, Arsenal – The Making of a Modern Superclub, at Borders, Brent Cross on Saturday 6th September at 12 noon. So if you’d like a personalised copy of the book, or to chat about Arsenal with the authors, then this is your opportunity to do so.

Sounds too good to be true, eh? Let’s have some order in that queue please. Anyway, the Borders store is located on the south side of the North Circular – in what’s called the Brent South Shopping Park. So not in the huge long established Brent Cross Shopping Centre, but its younger brother on the south side of the A406. There’s a map here

Full details of the signing –
Borders, Brent Cross at 12:00pm on Saturday 6th September
Address - Unit A, Brent Cross Shopping Park, Tilling Road, Brent Cross, London NW2 1LJ
To reserve a signed copy if you can’t make it on the day, then phone 020 8452 9245.

Reviews of the book can be read elsewhere on this site, Arsenal World and A Cultured Left Foot for those that want to know more before deciding to buy.

And there’s an adaptation come extract you can read to get a flavour of the book that was printed in last weekend’s Observer sports section

If you wish to buy the book by post, onlinegooner readers can get over £2 off the £12.99 publishers’ online price, making the book £10.91 plus postage and packing. Simply click here and select ‘buy now’. In the window that opens enter the word gooner in the promotion code box and the deduction will reduce the price when you press the ‘go’ box next to it.

Think that’s about your lot. There’s another signing in Barnet on Saturday 13th which I will be plugging in an equally shameless fashion next week. Maybe see some of you this Saturday if you are in the NW2 area.
