It wasn’t till today that I realised just how many pit ponies the Totts had bought over the last few years. A lesson worth remembering next time you yell at Arsene to start fingering his wad. It ain’t what you spend but how you spend it.

But going back to that lot’s profligacy. It was with much hullabaloo, they love a good fanfare up there, the Middlesex mob decided to go European in their quest for glory and initially they hired Frank Arnesen to be their Director of Football. Little was made of it at the time but Comolli had spent several years scouting for the Arsenal! And we know what happens when Arsenal men go to the Lane? Terry Neill got them relegated, Graham won them a cup but they still kicked him out. And now Comolli!

By sitting on the board he has been sending cash left, right and centre with little oversight. He worked under Wenger after all; he must know a thing or two about players. And boy did he. Just look at the duff on this list.

Mind you he is also believed to have found us Eboue!
