A well-earned thee points in the end on Sunday at Upton Park. You could see from the off that there was the hunger and desire that we’ve been lacking recently. And I pray to god that it continues.
On the whole our defence and Gallas in particular was solid and the whole team united, playing for each other. The expected changes the boss made to the side paid off although I was a bit surprised about Theo’s early withdrawal - had we drawn or lost the match the boss would’ve been crucified. But Ade and Diaby changed the game and to be honest we should’ve been three or four up before the own goal. Silvestre is looking better with every game and can only improve.
The scousers’ surprise win at Chavski makes the title race more interesting and they look like the team to beat at this stage.
Also, I was gobsmacked at the goings on at the other end of Seven Sisters Road, Harry Redknapp at the Spuds. Now I’ve got a lot of respect for the man. His record speaks for itself but we should still beat them tomorrow night. From a personal point of view I think he’s done the dirty on Pompey but from a business perspective it looks right. Pompey needed the money and he won the FA Cup with them and took them to Europe so I think he’s taken them as far as possible.
He has also left them in better shape, so long as he doesn’t poach any of the players and I also hope the management team of Tony Adams and Joe Jordon get a fair crack at the job as it would be good to see one of our favourite sons coach in the Premier League and with JJ alongside him he’s got an experienced head next to him.
Tony’s been working with Harry for a couple years now and looks to have learned loads from him and I can’t see him switch his allegiance and going to Spurs. Who knows, if he does well, maybe when the time comes and Arsene retires? He’d be my first choice.
