A lot has been said about Wednesday night’s calamity and I’m going to add my piece. To be 2 goals up at home with 1 minute to go against any team and not win is absolutely unforgivable and serious questions need to be asked about the multitude of problems that this team faces right now. Being honest, even if we had held on to the lead, as we should have done would have only covered up our glaring deficiencies in defence and Arsene cannot bury his head in the sand any longer.
He is killing any chances of success by not strengthening the team. Put simply, this squad of players are just not good enough to challenge for the Premier or Champions League. There are too many players who think that they are better than they actually are. Almunia is nothing more than an average keeper, one screw up in a game is bad enough, two is unacceptable. Our defence is absolutely hopeless, a high ball comes near them and they panic. Where did Gallas and Silvestre f**k off to in injury time when Jenas and Lennon scored? Steve Bould would have booted that tosser Modric into the upper tier and be done with it. The famous back four must be laughing their heads off at our inability to hold on to a lead.
Gael Clichy may be blaming himself for the third goal that let them get back into it but that is not addressing the problem. Yes he cocked up, his inability to concentrate is shocking, anyone remember Birmingham last season? But that didn’t mean Jenas had to score, we let him run from the f**king halfway line and no w**ker thought to bloody close him down!! Denilson is a lovely midfielder who can pass the ball square and is very neat and tidy but he is not a holding midfielder. Wenger spoke about how well he played but he just seemed to disappear on Wednesday night. There is no protection for the defence and it shows.
The bottom line is this: a football team is a reflection of its manager and the scum are clear evidence of this. Under Ramos, they would have capitulated at 4-2. Under Redknapp they showed some semblance of fight. Our players are arrogant, cocky and complacent. The goals were all avoidable and that is a lack of professionalism and Wenger has to take a large portion of the blame. People say that it’s the players who play but don’t they take their cue from the manager? He is so stubborn that he is not prepared to listen to anybody. He is so determined to win with this group of players that he loses his rag so often because it just isn’t working.
He is absolutely clueless with substitutions. Walcott was having a brilliant game, terrorising their defence. You could tell every time he got the ball they were terrified. So Wenger takes him off. This allowed them to push up and put more pressure on us because Eboue is a useless right midfielder. If he’s going to bring Van Persie off (and that’s understandable when you take his fitness into account) then why not put on Bendtner? And the Song for Nasri change was a disaster because nobody had a clue what the f**king shape of the team was to be!!
In my view, Wenger is out of control and he is cheating us supporters because he is burying his head in the sand and telling us all these wonderful things. If we concede 4 goals at home to Man Utd next Saturday then I guarantee you that we will not score 4. He is out of control and he should be reminded that it is his job to have Arsenal up there challenging, not being the world’s most talented nursery. He moaned about a lack of support, well we gave that and got rewarded with chaos at the end.
The players are so removed from reality that it wouldn’t surprise me if they think that us supporters earn as much as they do. They don’t give a s**t about the supporters. They need to be reminded what Wednesday night meant. It seems to me that Wenger doesn’t want to win trophies. He’s more concerned with developing young players who f**k up under pressure. I didn’t see the famous mental strength that he bangs on about on Wednesday night. And if he doesn’t want to win trophies then shoot me down for saying this, but maybe we should find a manager who does.
