This Weekend in the Rocket – Nick Hornby Competition

Present a cheque from last season’s REDaction/Rocket fundraising

This Weekend in the Rocket – Nick Hornby Competition

Nick Hornby – Bring your copies of Fever Pitch along for signing

Another great win in the Kids Cup on Tuesday. Wouldn’t it be good if Arsenal played a charity match between the first team & the Carling Cup team? Only problem is, would the first team be up for it? Isn’t it a pity that the Chavs lost on pens (again) last night? As they played a first team and are not de-valuing the competition like we are with our kids, isn’t that right Ray Wilkins you idiot?

Anyway, lets look forward to this weekend and the visit of Aston Villa, where a win would put a nice six point gap between us and them.

With it being a 3pm kick-off the Rocket’s doors will be open from 11am onwards. We will have the usual three bars open, so when you arrive, if the main bar is busy, don’t forget we also have the side bar (selling cans of Red Stripe, Magners Cider or plastic bottles of Bud) as well as the bar upstairs.

We will NOT have any food on sale pre or post game this weekend. Food sales started off well in the warmer months when it was a BBQ outside, but sales have not made it worthwhile now it’s been based inside during the colder months. So if you want to eat, do it before you get to the Rocket.

On the big screens this weekend we will be showing SoccerAM, followed at 12 noon by the Kids Cup quarter final draw. Plus the days two TV games: Bolton V Liverpool at 12:45 & West Brom v Chavs at 5:15.

There is a special guest in the Rocket this weekend. At 2pm we have Nick Hornby coming down so that we can present him with a cheque for Treehouse (Arsenal’s charity of the season for last season) for £2,000.

So make sure you dig out your copies of Fever Pitch and bring them down to the Rocket for Nick to sign.

We would like one of you (the fans that have donated the money in the Rocket) to present the cheque to Nick, so we have devised a competition for you to enter with the winner being the person to present the cheque.

Questions:
1) Who played the part of Nick Hornby in the film of ‘Fever Pitch’?
2) What was the official attendance at the game itself?
3) What were the numbers of the turnstile entrances that Arsenal fans entered the Anfield Road terrace by on the night?

Rules:

Email your three answers to REDaction: [email protected]

Include your mobile number in the email – so we can contact you if you have won

If we get more than one person with three correct answers, we will draw the winner at random from those entrants.

Closing time and date for entry is 3pm, Friday 14th November.

The winner will be notified on Friday afternoon by email or phone.
