Can Arsenal break 119 year record at Manchester United this weekend
Arsenal head to Old Trafford on the cusp of achieving something never previously done in Gunners history
Since Arsenal first took on Manchester United in the old First Division back in 1906, no Gunners team has even beaten the Red Devils five times in a row.
Fresh on the back of the club's astonishing 7-1 victory over PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands earlier this week, Mikel Arteta's second place side head to Old Trafford this weekend on the cusp of achieving something that no side has done in the history of the Premier League.
Following the Gunners 2-0 win over Ruben Amorim's side in North London back in December, the club stretched its league winning run against United to four matches - the longest streak against the Manchester giants in Arsenal's top-flight history.
Only three other teams have achieved four in a row against the Red Devils since the Premier League’s formation in 1992.
Liverpool, Manchester City, and Brighton & Hove Albion all completed a quadruple against United - but none of those sides won their next match with the Old Trafford outfit.
Meaning, if Arsenal come away from Manchester on Sunday evening with a victory, Arteta's side would become the first team in Premier League history to beat Manchester United five times in a row in the competition.
