Red card for Arsenal 's Will Sweet after an appallingly poor challenge. Son, if you want to take someone out, make sure you're far cuter than what you showed tonight...embarrassing
HT ET 2-3
United very much in the ascendancy right now
Arsenal No17 Dan Casey will be disappointed he didn't do more to stop No16 Samuel Lusale's driving run past him prior to crossing for Mantato to slot home for United's third as we approach the end of the first period of extra time
GOAL - Arsenal U18 2-3 Man Utd U18s - Bendito Manato slots home from close range after a driving run and cross by Samuel Lusale who teed the No17 up perfectly
Brando Bailey-Joseph replaces Andre Harriman-Annous in the first period of extra time with both sides battling for supremacy
Right. Here we go for 30 minutes extra time, 15 each way in a bid to find a winner to this gripping clash here at the Emirates - even if it is absolutely freezing now
Extra time coming up next...
FT: Arsenal U18s 2-2 Manchester United U18s after a lively 90 minutes from both sides full of attacking intent - with Max Dowman and Louis Copley impressing for the Young Guns
United attacking with three minutes of the nine added on remaining as the Red Devils win a corner - which comes to nothing as No18 Amir Ibragimov heads over
CORRECTION: Max Dowman has not been substituted and is still on the pitch
Dowman is subbed during the nine minutes of added time along with Louis Copley,. for me the two best performers by far on the night, after both picked up knocks by the looks of it....
GOAL - Arsenal U18 2-2 United U18s - Pick that one out! United No2 Jaydan Kamason absolutely shellacks the ball into the net past Porter who had no chance as the young Red Devils and their fans in the ground celebrate
Twenty minutes remaining...
A lull in the game after Max Dowman's successful spot-kick after he won the penalty himself after United left-back Reece Munro fouled the Young Gun in the area, leaving referee Jacob Miles no option but to award a penalty
It's absolutely incredible to think that Max Dowman only turned 15 on December 31. I've already seen him a fair few times and he is powerful but with a superb technique, touch and temperament. If he can avoid injuries and keep his feet on the ground and avoid all that comes with being a young star he has a real chance of being big. Really big
Such a cool, calm collected spot kick by massive Arsenal prospect Max Dowman to put the Young Guns 2-1 up here just before the hour mark. What a talent
GOAL - 61 - Arsenal U18 2-1 Man Utd U18s: No10 Max Dowman!!!!
GOOOOOOAAAALLLLLL!!!!!!
Penalty to Arsenal
PENALTY!
As an aside can I just say thank you to everyone who stopped to buy a copy of the Gooner Fanzine from me outside Arsenal tube before the game. Thank you for helping to keep our independent labour of love alive, cheers
The official attendance has been given as 7,561 here at the Emirates tonight
Just to confirm I only had a couple of biscuits. Like, I didn't eat the whole box they found...although I could have done, I'm starving after another long day....
A massive thanks to the guys behind the tea bar in the media room who I see every week when I cover Premier League games here at the Emirates for managing to find a box of biscuits at half time. See, it pays to be nice...
HT: Arsenal U18 1-1 Man Utd U18 - and that's half time after a lively opening 45. I'm off for a cuppa on a cold Emirates evening see you in 10
I have to say that was hugely enjoyable watching an Arsenal attacker score a goal....
A superb finish by Arsenal's talented No7 and captain Louis Copley who calmly lifted the ball over onrushing United keeper William Murdock to equalise. Such clinical finishing ability from the teenager...
GOAL! - 41: Arsenal U18 1-1 Man Utd U18s - Louis Copley
United go 1-0 up here at the Emirates after a superb strike from their No10 Jack Fletcher, who came inside to work space before unleashing a curler that beat the despairing dive of Gunners keeper Jack Porter
35 - GOAL: Arsenal U18 0-1 Man Utd U18: Jack Fletcher
Fair play to the United fans signing ditties against their 'renowned outsourcing billionaire' charging them £60 a ticket
28 - United No2 Jaydan Kamason powers down the right flank before firing narrowly wide
There's a handful of Man Utd fans making a noise amid a crowd of around 5,000 despite 9,000 being mooted. To be fair I would be too as their first team are utterly dreadful...
22 - Arsenal keeper Jack Porter saves a long range effort from United's No5 Harry Amass
One talented young gun who is in red and white is Max Dowman - and the youngster has been busy attempting to find space amid the attentions of the United backline
FYI: Chido Obi scored a hat-trick against Chelsea but has already made two first team substitute appearances - with Ruben Amorim opting to keep the former Hale End attacker in Manchester ahead of their FA Cup clash against Fulham on Sunday. Altogether now: "You should have stayed at The Arsenal..."
I remember being at the Emirates as part of a crowd of 38,187 watching Arsenal U18s last FA Youth Cup game vs a young United side at the Emirates Stadium, back in 2007. Kieran Gibbs scored the game's only goal, prior to United beating Arsenal 4-2 aet at Old Trafford in the second leg. Danny Welbeck scoring for United. Those were the days...
Adam Lawrence’s young Red Devils - who won three trophies last season - beat Coventry City, Preston North End and Chelsea in this season's competition to earn the right to face Arsenal here at the Emirates
U18s boss Adam Birchall's side reached this stage of the competition by beating Hertford Town 4-3 in a third round thriller, prior to knocking out Queens Park Rangers on penalties in the fourth round, before winning 2-1 against Fulham in the fifth round
Arsenal are seven-time FA Youth Cup winners (1966, 1971, 1988, 1994, 2000, 2001 and 2009) and most recently reached the final in 2023 when Jack Wilshere's team including Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly were beaten 5-1 by West Ham at the Emirates Stadium
It's been a gloriously sunny day here in North London, but as the sun dipped the temperatures have dropped substantially. So a massive thank you to the kind gentleman who came out of his house on Gillespie Road to hand me a cup of tea while I was flogging the Gooner Fanzine on a cold night. Thank you!
Hello and welcome to our Live Blog from the Emirates for Arsenal U18s vs Man Utd U18s for a place in the last four of the FA Youth Cup
