Preview:

The Gunners face familiar Premier League opposition in US pre-season tour friendly opener in California.

Arsenal start their annual pre-season tour of the USA by pitting their wits against the Cherries in LA on Wednesday night.

The Gunners have once again made the long trip across the Atlantic for another popular summer Stateside tour which also includes fixtues against Manchester United and Liverpool in Los Angeles and Philadelphia next week.

Arsenal's Premier League opener vs Wolves comes after the Emirates hosts friendlies against Granit Xhaka's Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday, August 7, as well as Lyon in the Emirates Cup on Sunday, August 11.

Match facts:

At London Colney last weekend Arsenal hosted Leyton Orient in a behind closed doors clash, when Gabriel Jesus and Emile Smith Rowe both scored in the 2-0 victory over the League One side from east London.

Andoni Iraola's Cherries started their pre-season in Santa Barbara at the weekend, with Marcos Senesi’s goal earning a 1-1 draw with celebrity-driven Wrexham.

The side from the south coast will be aiming to build upon an eye-catching debut season under Iraola, after they finished 12th following Gary O’Neil's unexpected departure.

The match will be Bournemouth’s final fixture in the States before they return to play La Liga duo Rayo Vallecano and Girona ahead of their Premier League opener away at Nottingham Forest on August 17.

Team news:

Arsenal headed to the USA with a 26-man squad missing Euro 2024 heroes Aaron Ramsdale, Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, William Saliba or David Raya - who will all return after the Stateside trip following their exertions in Germany.

Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz will also be absent against the Cherries - thanks to their participation in Copa America and Euro 2024 respectively. They are pencilled in to join up with Arteta's squad on July 25.

Arsenal omitted Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kiernan Tierney from the travelling squad and the pair remain in London due to injury.

However, the squad does include new goalkeepers Tommy Setford and Lucas Nygaard plus a raft of youngsters such as Alexei Rojas, Josh Nichols, Ayden Heaven, Omar Rekik, Michal Rosiak, Myles Lewis-Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri, Salah–Eddine Oulad M’Hand, Jimi Gower and Charles Sagoe Jr.

Bournemouth's Milos Kerkez, Illia Zabarnyi, Ryan Christie and Tyler Adams are all involved after their respective campaigns at Euro 2024 and the Copa America.

Luis Sinisterra and Enes Unal are absent through injury.

Head to head:

Arsenal wins: 13

Bournemouth wins: 1

Draws: 2

Arsenal have dominated this fixture, with five wins on the bounce, including a 4-0 rout of the Cherries on the sunny south coast last August, which was followed up with a 3-0 victory at the Emirates.

The game is set for a 730pm kick-off local time in Los Angeles on Wednesday, July 24.
