Player ratings:

Manu Zinsberger 7/10

Made two important saves in the second half after watching Clarissa Larisey miss from close range early on.

Katie McCabe 8/10

Brilliant against Manchester City in Arsenal’s Women’s Super League opener and retained that consistency at Meadow Park tonight.

Laia Codina 7/10

Often a nervous starter to games but has done well alongside Lotte Wubben-Moy in the absence of the likes of Leah Williamson, Steph Catley and Amanda Ilestedt.

Lotte Wubben-Moy 7/10

Booked for a tactical foul on Clarissa Larisey and struggled early on before helping Arsenal sail through to the group stages.

Emily Fox 7.5/10

Gradually built up a connection with Beth Mead on Arsenal’s right side.

Kim Little 8/10

Reunited with her fellow veteran (maybe harsh) midfielder Lia Walti and the pair put on a clinic.

Lia Walti 8.5/10

Handed her first start of the season and marked it with a fantastic finish to put Arsenal in front on the night.

Mariona Caldentey 8/10

Scored her first goal for Arsenal in the 40th minute to double Arsenal’s lead, a deflected shot from close range. Should have had a second when she won the ball in the box but narrowly missed the target.

Alessia Russo 7.5/10

Started in the number ten role and worked hard to link up play.

Beth Mead 8.5/10

Preferred to Caitlin Foord having scored the all-important equaliser against Manchester City on Sunday. Lively and creative on the right wing and scored a brilliant goal, flicking the ball over a defender and volleying home in a confident move.

Stina Blackstenius 7.5/10

Drifted wide early on and should have done better when she headed wide from Mead’s free-kick. Did well to flick the ball on for Caldentey’s goal. Worked hard off the ball.

Caitlin Foord (Sub, 66’) 8/10

Assisted Frida Maanum as Arsenal took the game out of sight from Hacken. Would have felt she deserved a start, but both her and Mead proved their worth on the night.

Kyra Cooney-Cross (Sub, 76’) 7.5/10

Replaced Lia Walti.

Frida Maanum (Sub, 76’) 8/10

Made an instant impact, finding the bottom corner with her first touch after coming on.

Rosa Kafaji (Sub, 90’)

Laura Wienroither (Sub, 90’)

Subs not used: Van Domselaar, Williams, Reid, Kuhl, Harbert, Godfrey, Lia.
