Player Ratings: Arsenal Women come back from 3-1 down to win WSL thriller against West Ham

Player ratings:

Daphne van Domselaar 8/10

Two stunning, pivotal saves in the closing stages to preserve Arsenal’s narrow lead. Little chance of denying West Ham’s three goals.

Katie McCabe 8/10

Scored Arsenal’s second goal with an inventive piece of brilliance from a narrow angle, skipping between two defenders and smashing the ball across goal.

Steph Catley 6/10

Didn’t get near Shekiera Martinez for West Ham’s third goal- a tough outing for the Aussie, who also endured a difficult international break, with three defeats for the Matildas.

Leah Williamson 6.5/10

Completely lost Martinez in the same move but headed home with a flourish to equalise only a few minutes later!

Emily Fox 7/10

A difficult start against West Ham’s pacy left side but improved as the game went on, developing a partnership with Chloe Kelly.

Lia Walti 6/10

Left Amber Tysiak unmarked for West Ham’s opener. Looked to have been fouled in the build-up to Tysiak’s second goal, but the referee waved play on.

Kim Little 5.5/10

A difficult evening for the Arsenal captain in midfield, withdrawn in the second half. Victoria Pelova’s return from injury could be timely for the Gunners.

Mariona Caldentey 8.5/10

Hit the post with a first-time effort on the edge of the box. Delivered the enticing cross for Kelly’s goal. Scored from the spot, just, to complete a remarkable comeback.

Frida Maanum 6/10

Replaced at half-time by Stina Blackstenius as Alessia Russo dropped into the ten.

Chloe Kelly 8/10

Her first Arsenal start in her second spell at Meadow Park. A bundle of energy on the right wing, slamming the ball past Kinga Szemik to pull one back for the Gunners.

Alessia Russo 7.5/10

Missed a golden opportunity to pull a goal back in the 18th minute, putting the ball wide one on one with Kinga Szemik.

Stina Blackstenius (Sub, half-time) 7.5/10

Scored almost immediately after coming off but the offside flag was raised, constantly stretching the West GHanm defence.

Caitlin Foord (Sub, 55’) 8.5/10

An inspired substitution alongside Kyra Cooney-Cross, the two Aussies helping change the game at Meadow Park.

Kyra Cooney-Cross (Sub, 55’) 8.5/10

Her 50th Arsenal appearance, and an excellent cameo in midfield with some moments of pure class.

Amanda Ilestedt (Sub, 85’)

Beth Mead (Sub, 85’)

Subs not used: Manu Zinsberger, Jenna Nighswonger, Katie Reid, Victoria Pelova.
