Arsenal grabbed an unexpected a point from nowhere after battling back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 against Chelsea after a thrilling end to a hectic London derby at Stamford Bridge on Saturday evening.

Despite being second best for much of the game, Declan Rice dragged the Gunners back into the match when he capitalised on Blues keeper Robert Sanchez's sloppy pass out from the back to make it 2-1.

Chelsea had been coasting after goals from Palmer and Mudryk gave them a 2-0 lead. However, two goals in seven minutes from Rice and Leandro Trossard saw Arsenal battle back into the game in the last 15 minutes - leaving Blues boss Mauricio Pochettino feeling frustrated.

In an honest anaylsis after the match, Rice admitted to Sky Sports that the 'first-half worst we've played all season.'

Rice said: "First half from us the worst we've played this season in terms of sloppiness. But massive credit to Chelsea, the manager said they had been unlucky this season and they made it difficult for us.

"To show heart and character, it is not easy when 2-0 down. It's about having that fight and mindset, pushing the team on and making sure everyone has belief. It was a good comeback.

"Chelsea made it compact, but us on the ball was not good enough - my first pass I gave it away. It gave Chelsea encouragement but in the second half we showed what we're about - that hunger and never-say-die attitude. We showed great heart and character."

'It was quick instinct'

Humble Rice also spoke about his goal to bring Arsenal back into the game.

"Instead of driving the ball with my laces I had to curl it," said Rice speaking after the match.

"It was a quick instinct about whether to pass the ball to someone or take it on.

"I was buzzing but we were still 2-1 down and I wanted us to keep going and get another. I'm glad we did that."
